Howard Cruse is a widely published illustrator and comics creator who moved to North Adams in 2003 and joined MCLA's Fine and Performing Arts Faculty as an adjunct professor in the fall of 2006.

He is the author of six books and the adaptor-illustrator of a seventh. His graphic novel Stuck Rubber Baby, published in 1995, has since appeared in German, Italian, French, and Spanish editions and has won awards in the U.S., U.K., Germany, France, and Spain.
