What a great letter! I have what may well have been one of Dr. Seuss's final autographs. I read in THE COMICS BUYER'S GUIDE that he was in the hospital with a critical illness. I called Maggie Thompson and she got me an exact address. Every day for a week, I had every customer at the bookstore where I worked sign a giant card and list their favorite Seuss works. A few weeks later, we received a brief note on Cat in the Hat stationary with very shaky handwriting saying he was getting better. Within a very short time, I read of his passing. Sigh..

I was excited when someone introduced me to the R.Michelson Gallery where they have some of his art (and other fine things).
