Well, I was going to blog at more length today, but time has run out and Eddie and I have to pack for our trip to Portland and San Francisco that begins tomorrow.
I’ll report back as soon as I after May 20, when we’ll return to the Berkshires and resume our New England existence. Hang loose!


But will you still be married there?
Hmm. Well, we were still married at the Albany airport, but we were single once we arrived in Portland. Whether we became married again once we crossed the state line into California is kind of unclear, isn’t it, since even same-sex couples who were legally wed in California courthouses can’t know for sure what their post-Proposition 8 marital status is until the state’s Supreme Court issues its ruling in the next few days. As for when Eddie and I were in flight, I think we may have briefly been married if the plane flew over Iowa. I could swear I felt a slight tingle of temporary bliss up there. Bachelorhood was emphatically restored, however, during our layover in Salt Like City.
