Be Afraid!

Be very afraid! After all, who knows how much of a fool I may make of myself when I’m interviewed live tomorrow (that’s Wednesday, August 5th) on Bob Andelman‘s prestigious Mr. Media webradio show? It’ll commence at 2 PM. Eastern Standard Time and will last 45 minutes.

And after that it’ll remain archived as a podcast at the same URL, of course, so the world won’t end if you can’t stay home to listen to my conversation with Andelman (who authored a biography of comics great Will Eisner back in 2007 called Will Eisner: A Spirited Life and who therefore knows his way around sequential art panels) at the moment it’s happening.

Will I start off strong and then slowly disintegrate into babbling by the end, or will I be unable to put three sentences together from the moment the interview commences? Only the Shadow knows….

(If you’re wondering what all of those consumer products in the drawing above have to do with me doing a webcast interview about my new book, by the way, the answer is: nothing at all! This 28-year-old drawing that I did to illustrate a Village Voice article way back when just happens to be the only cartoon I could find in my files that has a scary-looking radio in it.)

One Response to Be Afraid!

  1. Alas, I won’t be near a computer tomorrow afternoon, so I’ll have to catch the archive. Bob is a great guy, and a real friend to comics.
