Priming the Pump

Last week I decided it was time to refurbish the Portfolio section of my web site, which I’ve allowed to languish un-updated for the last, oh I dunno, dozen years.

I’ve plugged the update everywhere I could think of (Facebook; Twitter; Tumbler; etc.) in hopes that I could lure art directors who might be inclined to use goofy drawings like mine to have a look at it. And since I’ve been thinking about reactivating this blog anyway, I figure why not take this occasion to see if I still know how (or can figure out how, through trial and error) to use WordPress. Some of WP’s tools have changed since I was posting here before the Big Interruption, and since I’ve never been able to wrap my head around HTML coding, I feel like a toddler just learning to walk (for a second time).

We’ll see how it goes, as Donald Trump likes to say. Meanwhile, if any of you folks out there reading this happen to be pals with any of the shrinking number of art directors who take it for granted that a cartoonist with forty-plus years of experience should be paid professional rates for humorous illustrations that can jazz up their magazines, books, ads, and bubble gum wrappers, how about passing this link on to them.

Getting some humorous illustration gigs would add some welcome juice to the bank account here in HowardCruseLand.

Until my next blog post, thanks.
